Bangkok Golf Club, located only 35 minutes from the center of town, hosted the Asian Tour's Volvo Masters in 2003.  Around this Bangkok golf course is an office, a school, a temple, some local housing and a bit of industry thrown in here and there, but it’s inside this garden-like oasis that the real world melts away. A testing, well-maintained and thoroughly enjoyable golf course unfolds before your eyes.

The course is rather short, playing only a little over 6800 yards from the back tees. However, there is plenty here to tempt and punish the overly complacent golfer. The relatively garden-like qualities and resident population of geese, ducks and swans may initially command more of your attention than the golf course, but after a double-bogey or two your concentration will re-focus to the more immediate golfing tasks at hand.

A good score will be based on hitting narrow fairways and avoiding the water hazards that front several of the excellent par-3's. The best of the short holes is the par-3 11th, where the island green requires good confidence to hit a strong tee shot over the water and carry the bunker blocking the front of the green. The 9th a double dogleg par 5 was voted one of the best 500 golf holes in the world by Golf Magazine in 1991.

Best of all here are the superb quality greens - fast and undulating. Thankfully, the caddies are well versed in reading the many slopes and borrows that characterize the putting surfaces.

Bangkok Golf Club's championship course is always well maintained to international tournament standards.  The second course is the 9-hole par 27, Mah Boonkroong International Par 3 Course, in which each hole was modeled after a famous par 3 hole from around the world. Both courses are floodlit for night golf.

The club house at Bangkok Golf Club offers traditional Thai massage, a well-stocked golf pro shop, locker rooms, and a choice of international, Thai, Italian and Japanese restaurants. The practice facilities include a driving range, putting green, and dedicated chipping areas.
