Myanmar, also known as Burma, has just recently opened it’s doors to the international golf traveler. Famous for it’s golden Shwedagon Pagoda and the over 2,2000 stupas in Bagan which date all the way back to the 11th century, this country is jaw-dropping beautiful and unique in so many aspects. The hospitality of the locals is second to none, and you will miss their friendliness when you return home.

At the moment, golf in Myanmar is more limited in quantity and quality that its neighboring SE Asian countries. Many courses are very old, flat and date back 70 to 100 years from British colonial times. Most have endured with modest, antiquated maintenance practices, so conditioning is often far from desired. The move to more refined golf courses is just now taking place, and Myotha National is the best example of this new breed of a Myanmar golf course.
