Kanchanaburi, sometimes referred to as River Kwai, is the fourth largest province in Thailand. Located 130 km west of Bangkok, the area is reached in 2 hours by road. The rural province shares a border with Myanmar (Burma), and the terrain comprises mountains and high plains. Most of the local population is of Thai ancestry with some Mon and Karen hill tribe minorities that add an exotic touch to golf in Kanchanaburi.
