Muang Ake Golf Club

Muang Ake Golf Course location makes it one of the closest courses to Don Muang International Airport. The course was opened in 1986 and is one of the oldest private golf clubs in Thailand. Flat paddy land around Rangsit University and older housing estate make up the surroundings of the golf course.

Generally, the course is flat. Without many undulations on both fairways and greens, together with a short tee-to-green length, players can expect a good score. Fairways are on the rugged and dry side. Greens can be fast and well-maintained during some parts of the year. Avoid rainy periods as there is little drainage under the grass. Most holes have water flanking the fairways or surrounding the green, so be sure to bring many extra golf balls.

The clubhouse restaurant at Muang Kaew is adequate for Thai food, though right outside the front gate, the seafood and other local pop-up restaurants are a great value and serve some of the tastiest food in Bangkok.

Less expensive green fees, walkability, and a friendly Thai atmosphere make Muang Ake popular with locals and visitors alike. Those looking for an authentic Thai golf experience will be glad they made the trek to Muang Ake. Visitors wanting a PGA-level course should look elsewhere.
