Bangi Golf Resort

Bangi Golf Resort is a 36-hole Kuala Lumpur golf course designed by Golfplan’s Ronald Fream & David Dale consisting of the Kajang, Putrajaya and Bangi Courses. At times quite testing, at others easier-going, this is a pleasant parkland layout, popular with both local and visiting golfers. The signature hole is the par-4 7th, with a testing carry over water to the green. About half the holes on this Malaysia golf course bring water into play, and excellent bunkering often threatens along the fairway and especially greenside. Bangi is a fun golf course.

Fun because the first nine has three par 5s. The first is a reachable one with a sharp dogleg almost 90 degrees to the left. In one mighty stroke, you can cut the entire dogleg over the trees and land with an 8 – 9 iron distance for eagle. The second par five is also reachable with a good drive and roll, and wood or long iron into the green guarded by two front bunkers. Finally, the par-5 9th plays the easiest. A comfortable cut of the dogleg left will catch the hill and roll down.

The second and third nines play more like traditional courses. Possibly the most memorable par 4 is the 13th. It's 260m to cross the pond onto the green. Bangi welcomes all golfers, especially those who are playing with beginners.

Course conditioning and the on-site golf resort could be of a better standard. Nevertheless, green fees are reasonable and golfing at Bangi Golf Resort has the makings of a pleasant day for most.
