Burapha Golf Club Description:
(former members-only courses & site of 2010 Thailand Open)

Burapha Golf Club, previously a members-only course, has hosted several professional tournaments including the 2010 Thailand Open and several Singha Thailand Championships. The 36 holes at Burapha have been designed to take full advantage of the beauty of the land and its natural features - lakes, hills, palms trees and tropical vegetation, all skillfully landscaped.

Designed by Americans Gary Panks and David Graham; Burapha Golf Club is laid out on hilly terrain. The East (A-B) Course features wide fairways and is perfect for the up & coming golfer. The West (C-D) Course is a challenge for more advanced and professional golfers. The golf courses maintenance is adequate, and the holes are well placed.

Elevated tee-boxes give excellent views onto the holes laid out below. Around the greens clinging semi-rough joins forces with good-quality bunkering to put a premium on hitting the assorted-sized greens. The four Burapha courses provide a scenic and testing golfing outing in an enjoyable, lightly tree-lined setting.

However, the Dunes nine is the most spectacular. The highest point on the Burapha property is between the 6th and 7th holes on the Dunes course and has a breathtaking panorama of the surrounding countryside. The Pattaya high rise condominiums, the Laem Chabang port, the ocean and large offshore islands are all in clear view. This open, undulating Dunes course is more challenging than its front-nine companion, the Crystal course. With a mix of lightly tree-lined and water protected holes, the Crystal nine provides a gentle lead-in to the more challenging and spectacularly scenic Dunes course.

Pattaya golf travelers can enjoy their golf in a very serene and quiet setting. The Burapha clubhouse serves good reasonably priced local and international food in the golfers' restaurant. For non-golfers, there is a wide range of facilities, such as swimming pools, tennis courts, and exercise equipment. The locker rooms are adequate for most Pattaya golfers, though nothing fancy.

Insiders Tip: Since the 2010 Thailand Open and subsequent events; Burapha Golf Club has been routing Pattaya golfers on course combinations such as A-C or B-D. Ask for the B-D routing to play where the professionals do.  Course A is useful if you want a more relaxed game. C is somewhere in the middle.

"Burapha was the final course I added to my itinerary but the first one I played. I went in assuming it would be not up to the standard of the other courses, but in fact I enjoyed it quite a bit. It isn't quite as lavishly maintained as the other courses I reviewed, but it was in excellent shape when I played. It's also a bit easier than some of the other courses in Thailand (at least it was for me), which made for a great starting round after arriving in the country the previous night. I also had one of the best caddies of my trip at this course...she spoke solid English and was very knowledgeable. If you're looking for a good starter course to get the kinks out of your swing, or just a change of pace to ease the pressure from some of the more difficult rounds, I would strongly recommend Burapha."

"Four nine-hole tracks to choose.

We played course A and D. A was easier with wider fairways and less elevatrion.

The finishing holes on D were spectacular with views around the region. Great par 3 up there great for photos.

Burapha is one of the most popular clubs in Pattaya and many expats play there each week.

Caddies are top notch too."

"Decent layout but condition of course and clubhouse needs some TLC"
Dina (2012-10-27)
"A very challenging golf cousre. Rough is knee high on this cousre and if your ball goes into the rough, you may not be able to find it. Forces you to hit more accurate shots. The back 9 is in the quarry and can feel like an oven in the summer.Fairways and greens were very well maintained."

    • GolfAsian.com booked a 13 day golf package for our group. The package included 7 awesome courses from Bangkok to Hau Hin. In addition, they booked some day excursions from spa treatments, river boat cruises to Temple visits. From the moment we touched down a driver had a sign and the tour guide spoke great English and was very polite. I strongly recommend GolfAsian.

    • My wife and I booked a golf weekend to Yogyakarta (Indonesia). We wanted to play golf and visit the historic (UNESCO) temples. Golfasian created a custom tour package for us. All we had to do was show up at the airport. Everything else was taken care of. Very professional. We were able to relax, play 2 different courses (Merapi and Borobudur) and visited the Prambanan and Borobudur temples. We are already looking to use Golfasian for our next golf weekend getaway.

    • Recent trip to Phuket, everything organised by Golfasian, except flights. 3 courses in 3 days, all went without a hitch, from Pick up at Airport straight to the 1st course with plenty of time to spare till our Tee off thanks to their timely pick up and suggested Tee time. All on ground from then on went like clockwork, pick up at hotels, drop off at the courses and then back to the hotel. All the courses were expecting us and were well prepared, which made things extremely easy. Well organised, on time and stress free...what more can you wish for?

    • We dealt with GolfAsian via their Australian representative, Prestige Golf Tours. Couldn't be happier with either of these companies, or recommend them highly enough. All of the transfers from airports, hotels and golf clubs went perfectly. Their staff were a dream to deal with. Their prices are very reasonable. From small things like free water on the bus each day, we just couldn't have been happier.

    • Really impressive. Our 10th year on this trip and we never consider anyone else other than Golfasian. Everything just runs so well... the logistics are perfect from the initial contact to the final bus drop off. Wonderful people too...so kind, hard working and helpful. Thank you and see you next year.
