Thanh Lanh Golf Club is a Vietnam masterpiece of famous designer Sir Nick Faldo. Nick Faldo and his team incorporated the local natural terrain of Thanh Lanh Lake and the surrounding valley of the Tam Dao mountains. At Thanh Lanh, golfers play distinct sections, including water surrounded, hillside, parkland, and a short section of Links golf. A peninsula over Thanh Lanh Lake houses the most spectacular holes. Returning nines both play out and back and share in the beauty of the site. The finishing holes play along the lake's shoreline to the clubhouse with a magnificent mountain backdrop.

Faldo incorporated natural streams and contour to create interest and variety in shotmaking. And while the course can stretch to more than 7,000 yards, five sets of tees and generous width make sure the course is playable for golfers of all abilities.

The Serena Valley Resort clubhouse resembles a medieval castle looking out over the finishing holes at Thanh Lanh. Modern elements such as accent lighting, well-stocked VIP areas, and a complete pro shop are included but hidden from the external view. Private resort villas are behind the clubhouse and available for rent on both short and long-term tenures.

Golf in Hanoi is not complete without playing in the northern Tam Dao Mountains, and Thanh Lanh Valley is the top regional golf course. Most golfers opt for a day trip out and back from the center of Hanoi and allow 10-12 hours to take in the golf and scenery along the way.

Good resort course. 'Best course that Simon has played in Asia'. Great sand in bunkers, lovely greens which were very consistent, but a bit slow. Flag colour indicated pin position. Excellent club house. Marshall's were a bit officious which somewhat spolied the player experience. We were held up be the field for the first 3 holes.

Loved the journey to this course and the course itself was spectacular. Took many photos and videos while we were here. Great design and tough enough for the good golfers and forward tees for the high-handicapper. A quality facility and can't wait to go back and play it again - especially when the on-site hotel is built.

Unbelievable course, worth the 90 minute drive from Hanoi. Tell clients to take swim wear in order to use the facilities in the locker rooms (Jacuzzi, sauna etc.) The only downside was my caddy who it felt like didn't really want to be doing the job.
