Phunaka Golf Course is a 9 hole floodlight golf course in a stinning location on the southern part of Phuket Island. Just a short drive from Phuket Town and the island’s beaches, Phunaka Golf Couse is surrounded by lush green landscaped grounds.
The Phunaka Golf Course itself is ground breaking. Jon Morrow (associated with both Phunaka and one of Phuket’s other golf courses; Red Mountain) designed the course to accommodate players of all abilities. As such, Phunaka provides a great learning experience for beginners and a chance to practice all shapes of shots for advanced players.
The course plays to a par 30 and includes six par 3s and three par 4s. The Phunaka par 3 holes range in length from 100 to 190 yards. The 108 yard 3rd hole is particularly spectacular as the hole requires a lofted iron into a small green fronted by natural marsh land. However, the short distance should not deter golfers looking for more challenge. Longer par 4s such as the 407 yard 3rd and the 433 yard 8th holes will insure golfers get a chance to use every club in their bag.
Phunaka is complete with night golf, full clubhouse, excellent restaurant, 300 yard driving range and golf academy. For those looking to squeeze in an extra nine holes at the beginning or end of any Phuket golf holiday, then the highlight just might be a round at the Phunaka Golf Course.
