The course has a links-feel due to its seaside location and surrounding forested hills on three sides. The natural lie makes for significant elevation changes on most of the holes, which adds to the interest and challenge of the course.

This course proves difficult, and some local professionals have trouble making par here. The front nine has a tight layout and puts a premium on accurate tee shots and while the back nine is more open, making par is still tricky.
