Kings Island Golf Resort, Lakeside Course

The Lakeside Course name says it all, with 14 holes bringing water into play. Opened in 1997 and designed by Robert McFarland of the United States, many of the holes play beside the banks of the surrounding lakes. The Lakeside Course plays across two islands and a peninsula forming part of the reservoir. Views of the Ba Vi mountain range providing a stunning backdrop to the artificial lake, while the Red River Valley is visible in the distance. 

Measuring 6,516 yards from tips this Par 72 will challenges golfers regardless of handicap and golfing capability. The Lakeside Course includes numerous and varied uses of the water surrounding the course and the gently rolling terrain. The dwarf Bermuda grass greens are small in size and have few undulations. Fairways are well-groomed with tight Bermuda grass lies being the norm.

Many of the hidden greens require accurate carries over the lake or swampy terrain. A favorite hole is the thirteenth,  a par-5 with the tee shot having to clear a gorge. Also a par-5, the 572-yard seventh is another standout, featuring a double dogleg from an elevated tee. Probably the most memorable hole is the fourteenth, the highest point on the course with excellent views.

The Kings Island Golf Resort, Lakeside Course is floodlight making late tee times and evening starts available to anyone who prefers to play at that time of day.

Kings Island Golf Resort features a clubhouse with an excellent restaurant serving a wide range of cuisines. There is also a bar, which is a great place to relax at after a round. In addition to golf, the club also offers other activities including sailing and fishing on Dong Mo Lake and swimming in the club’s Olympic-sized swimming pool. There are a few rooms on site which may be rented out at certain times of the year. However, most golfers will choose to go back to Hanoi after their rounds at Kings Island.
