Loch Palm Golf Club Description:
(a local long-time favorite for its unique, fun & fair design)

The Loch Palm 18 hole par 72, 6,555 yards golf course is one of the most enjoyable and consistent Phuket golf courses.  Nestling beneath a panoramic range of jungle-clad hills, Loch Palm is easy going although still capable of throwing down many challenges and giving any Phuket golfer a thorough workout. As the club’s name suggests, palm trees are liberally dotted around this parkland layout, although never too densely.

On the front-nine the main objective is keeping the golf ball on dry land; many holes are played alongside the loch (a sizeable lake), which has a habit of cutting across some of the gently undulating fairways.

The short 2nd hole is one of many holes that tests golfer’s nerves around water. A par 5 with significant amount of large and open bunkering also comes into play. Shots too wayward require significantly longer lengths to avoid finding the perimeter real estate or worse out-of-bounds. The back nine has some tighter and more undulating holes, starting with the short but testing downhill par 4 10th. The equally tight and challenging par 5 11th hasnew villas flanking the left side of the hole; be ready to shout "Fore !". Among several excellent holes on the back-nine, one of the best is the 14th, a par 3 played downhill to a green surrounded on three sides by water.

Golf carts are available as an option and the course is always in top playing condition. The club house serves good Thai food at reasonable prices. However, the facility itself is in need of a makeover as it shows its age especially in the smallish locker rooms and around the eating and sitting areas.

Played this course the day after we played at Red Mountain in April. Course used to be poor but they have improved a lot and now with the new club house things have changed completely. It's not as good as next door red mountain of course but if you are already in the area you should play this beautiful course. we certainly had a Great time there and I'd play it again and recommend to my friends!

We played this course a few days ago. BEAUTIFUL course! It was well-kept, had a nice layout, and was quite forgiving if you hit a sub-par tee shot. They really need to offer better caddies though. Ours were useless as they routinely told us the wrong distances, lined up putts incorrectly, didn't speak a lick of English, and were quite rude to boot. One had the nerve to ask for a bigger tip from my friend, saying it was the course 'rule' to give that amount. That said, I'd love to play the course again. Highlight of the day - believe it or not, a stray dog stole my friend's ball from the 16th bunker to the right of the green. We saw the ball hit, went up, and there was the ball impact spot, trail, and paw prints from back to front of the bunker, dig marks where the ball trail ended, and no ball! Priceless!!!

A GOOD all round course with great views of the surrounding mountains with great undulations. The lush backdrop of the greenary and lots of water to boot ensures you will remember this course. Enjoyable golf. PS The caddies are pretty too!

Short but tight golf course with small greens. Course management is a MUST here. Lots of water and and often a long carry. Good challenge, long and reckless wont work here!
