Alpine Golf resort was a bit rough but Santiburi Chiang Rai, Summit Green Valley and Chiangmai Highlands were excellent.
Le Meridien in Chiang Rai was excellent. De Naga Chiang Mai was good. We had some issues in Chiang Mai with cigarette smoke filtering in one of the rooms late in the evening and early morning. The hotel allows smoking in the garden area in the middle of the hotel and outside the hotel room doors and we believe that was the source of the smoke. We realize that smoking is more a fact of life in Asia so we kind of understood. The breakfasts at the De Naga were OK but not as good as the other hotels we stayed at in Vietnam and Chiang Rai.
The Operations team that we met in Thailand were excellent – highly responsive and courteous – a pleasure to do business with.
