Phokeethra Country Club, managed by Sofitel, offers a compelling golf experience in Cambodia, conveniently located near Siem Reap International Airport. The course, known for hosting the Asian Tour's Johnnie Walker Cambodian Open, underwent significant renovations in 2018 to maintain its high standards. Its design incorporates elements of Cambodian culture, featuring the historic 'Roluh' bridge between the 9th green and 10th tee, a nod to the 11th-century Khmer empire.
The course spans 7,363 yards, with Bermuda grass on the greens and Paspalum on the fairways, ensuring excellent conditions throughout the year. The updated layout enhances playability with eight new greens, introducing fresh challenges, particularly on the back nine. The standout 18th hole, with its double water carry to an island green, provides a memorable finish.
Practice facilities include dedicated pitching and putting greens near the clubhouse, ideal for pre-round warm-ups. The clubhouse, though modest, offers Sofitel-inspired service with a restaurant serving a delightful array of Western, Khmer, and Asian dishes. Additional amenities include comfortable locker rooms, showers, and a pro shop stocked with branded gear and souvenirs.
