The Sofitel-managed Phokeethra Country Club is one of the best courses available in Cambodia. The golf course hosted the 2009 Johnnie Walker Classic and 2010 Cambodian Open. Major renovations in 2018 keep the course standards to those set when they first opened.

The location is perfect for Cambodian golf visitors as it is close to the Siem Reap International  Airport. The course itself reflects much having to do with Cambodian culture and history. For example, between the 9th green and 10th tee is a restored 'Roluh' bridge, also the iconic image used in the course's logo, dating back to the 11th century Khmer empire.

Bermuda and Paspalum grasses are used on the greens and fairways, respectively. The combination ensures fast-rolling putting surfaces and a high standard of course conditions all year round. The new 7,363-yard layout reflects Phokeethra Country Club's dedication to enhancing an exclusive golfing experience.  Eight of the new 2018 greens improve playability while adding many enhancement challenges on the back nine.

Sweeping fairways and generous greens still give the Cambodia golf club a distinctive layout and feel. Natural lagoons and sand bunkers thread through the course and provide challenges in every hole. The course provides a good mix of tricky par 3's, individual par 4's, and par 5's, which require a combination of long drives and reasonable direction control to score well. The signature double water carry 18th-hole  offers a daunting final shot into a challenging island green.

Practice facilities consisting of separate pitching and putting greens are located close to the clubhouse, allowing golfers to brush up their skills before heading out on the course.

The Phokeethra Country Club's clubhouse is smallish but gets the job done. The Sofitel-inspired service and restaurant serve an excellent combination of Western, Khmer, and Asian favorites. Comfortable locker and shower facilities and a pro shop stocked with branded golf gear and logo souvenirs round out the facilities.

Pro shop and facilities were dated. Course was in good shape. On the plus side, very quiet, felt like we had our own private golf club
