Following the immensely successful debut last September of its charity golf tournament, Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts decided not to wait another year for the second edition: The next “Great Day For A Good Cause” is scheduled for May 29th and will again be held at Kings’ Island Golf Club, Hanoi’s oldest golf facility.
“The enthusiasm generated by last year’s tournament was really gratifying,” noted Knuth Kiefer, Mövenpick Hotel general manager Vietnam. “So, by popular demand we reconsidered the schedule and moved the whole thing up to this May. Another key element was the generous sponsorship of Amdocs, a global company specializing in customer experience systems innovation. Amdocs has been greatly supportive of us, last year and also this year and has brought great prestige to this event”.
“Such an event would not be possible,” added Rad Kivette, development consultant of the VinaCapital Foundation, on behalf of Heartbeat Vietnam, “without the managerial and organizational expertise of Mövenpick Hotel – especially the flexibility to move the tournament up. The investment of time and money in the future welfare of our underserved and disadvantaged children shows yet again that Vietnam truly cares. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the Mövenpick, the tournament sponsors, and, of course, to our golfers.”
Other corporate sponsors of the event include Porsche, who will offer a highly coveted Cayman, together with Archi Reenco Hoa Binh to offer a luxury villa at LamSon Resort, valued at US$350,000 for a hole-in-one.
Last year’s tournament attracted about 100 participants, who enjoyed “a great day for a good cause” on Kings’ Island’s Lakeside Course, followed by a Gala Dinner at Mangosteen, the Mövenpick Hotel Hanoi’s outstanding restaurant.
“The hope, of course, when we first conceived of the charity tournament, was that it would become a kind of institution that golfers would look forward to, just as we do,” said Kiefer. “And we feel like we’re well on the way to doing that, so we’re eagerly anticipating the second shot. Kind of like a mulligan, but without having hit a bad one the first time around.”

I like to use a service provider for larger groups to avoid all the administrative hassle and this is the second time I have used Golf Asian - it will certainly not be the last time. They take all the pressure off the planners/organizers, which meant we could all relax and enjoy the holiday. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
