Golfasian - Asian Golf Holiday Experts in Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Laos & Myanmar
The 2011 Golfasian Amateur Golf Week Tournaments tee off with the Hua Hin Amateur Golf Week, starting 12th March through 18th March and then moves throughout the country during 2011, playing the best courses in each area in a tournament style event, designed for amateur golfers to play in a pro style tournament and promises to show case the best courses that each area has to offer. Managing Director for Golfasian Mark Siegel says the best golf courses in each region have hosted major events on both the US and European Golf tours, these golf courses are designed to challenge all levels of golfers. The players will have to carefully manoeuvre their shots around the courses to maximise scoring and to keep lost balls to a minimum. The tournaments, running for 7 days and 6 nights each, will be played over 4 rounds, at different courses, with a stableford competition accumulating over the week to result in the overall winner. Mark Siegel mentioned that “The good thing about having this type of format using Stableford is one or two bad holes don’t really hurt in a 72 hole tournament, but you do need to be fairly consistent during the week to win!” These Thailand Amateur Golf Week tournaments will have daily winners and the usual nearest pin and best nine hole scores each day, but the better prizes will be for the overall winners. These events are open to all players either travelling on their own, small groups as well as larger groups. Some clubs are sending their club champions as their prize for winning end of year club events. Other great Thailand golf destinations to host the Thailand Amateur Golf Week Tournaments will be Pattaya, Phuket and Series Final in Chiang Mai in October. Pattaya has 40 golf courses within an hour’s drive and the courses that are being played are all top shelf, 3 of the courses have hosted LPGA Tour and Asian Tour events this year. In fact the LPGA will be playing Siam Country Club Plantation Feb 25-28, so when the Amateur Week starts on 18th March, the course will still be in tournament condition. Director of Golf for Golfasian Mark Penfold emphasizes the enjoyable aspects of the tournaments, taking the best courses in each destination and offering players the chance to experience the thrill of competing in a real tournament and to meet other golfers in a sociable and competitive environment. Entries for these Thailand Amateur Golf Weeks are open and you book can book now for any of the events planned for this year. If you would like to join the golfers already booked in for Hua Hin and Pattaya,  then send us an email to tournaments(at)golfasian(dot)com for further details on how to enter. • Just finished two wonderful weeks of golf in Thailand organized by Golf Asia. Incredible courses in both Hua Hin & Chaing Mai. Black Mountain and Banyon are outstanding. Ian Morgan in Hua Hin was a complete professional and had a chance to stop by so we could meet him.
Definitely recommended as a complete turn-key service. Caddies are new to us but great aspect of golf in Thailand.
