Playing the Golf Courses in Thailand

The rules on Thailand golf courses are generally the same as golf rules observed the world over as outlined and set down by the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St.Andrews, Scotland. Throughout your golf vacation, in order to accommodate the differing rules on Thailand golf courses, before commencing your round read the local rules on the scorecard. It is also useful to remember on for your golf vacation to always put an identification mark on your ball. On a Thailand golf course many golfers play the same brand of ball and if you can’t identify your ball, it’s considered lost. For golf courses in Thailand you are commonly allowed a maximum of 14 clubs. And as is customary during a hole you may not play a practice stroke. The rules will differ slightly depending on the type of game you are playing, match play or stroke play.

When playing golf Bangkok patpong always tee off between and not in front of the tee-markers, golfers can tee off up to two club-lengths behind the front line of the tee-markers. On a Thailand golf course to tee off outside of this area may require you to replay your stroke. At golf courses in Thailand play the ball as it lies. It is not allowed to improve your lie or your line of play by moving, bending or breaking anything fixed or growing. On your golf vacation when your ball lies in a bunker or a water hazard don’t touch the ground in the bunker, or the water, before your downswing. The ball must be fairly struck, not pushed or spooned.

Out on the Green on Thailand Golf Courses

During you golf Bangkok Patpong stay you may only repair ball marks in the line of your putt, not any other damage, including spike marks. Thailand golf courses allow you to lift and clean your ball on the green, please always replace it to the exact spot. During the golf vacation please respect the Thailand golf course, do not test the putting area by scraping it or rolling a ball over it. When your ball is at rest and is moved by you, your partner or your caddie, a penalty stroke must be added to your scorecard. However, if your ball is at rest and is moved by someone else or another ball, replace it without penalty to you.

When playing on golf courses in Thailand if your ball is deflected or stopped by persons not affiliated with your game you can play your ball as it lies without penalty. For match play you have the option to replay the stroke, for stroke play, on a Thailand golf course, you must replay it. On your golf vacation, as is the custom, if a lifted ball is to be replaced, its position must be marked. If a ball is to be dropped or placed in any other position, on a Thailand golf course, it is recommended that the ball’s original position be marked. To drop the ball, standing erect, hold the ball at shoulder height and at arm’s length. If it strikes you or your partner, caddie or equipment it must be re-dropped without penalty. For golf Bangkok Patpong you may lift your ball to assist any other player or you may have any ball lifted if it interferes with your play.

Golf Courses in Thailand and Dealing With Obstructions

On Thailand golf courses you may move a loose impediment unless it and your ball are in a hazard. For other obstructions on course during your golf Bangkok Patpong stay it is best to check with local rules for guidance on immovable objects. Movable obstructions anywhere on the course may be moved, if this causes the ball to move it must be replaced without penalty. For dealing with immovable obstructions on your golf vacation, it is generally acceptable to drop the ball within one club-length of the obstruction. On a Thailand golf course, regarding water hazards, again it is best to check the local rules to define the term and as to the proper procedure to follow. Throughout your round on the Thailand golf course if you lose your ball you need to play another ball from the spot where the last shot was played under the penalty of one stroke.

Remember during your golf vacation, a good score may be spoiled or lost, through ignorance or confusion concerning the rules. A sound knowledge of the above summary should aid the golfer in tackling the rule problems. When any doubts or disputes arise the official Rules of Golf as approved by the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews and the United States Golf Association, should be consulted. At Golfasian we want your golf vacation to be nothing short of the best, being familiar with customs and rules is always advisable. There are other customs unique to golf courses in Thailand, such as the use of carts and caddies, all of which we explain for our customers. Most importantly enjoy your time on Thailand golf courses, the game and your holiday. And be assured we will assist and accommodate you in any way possible.

    • Vietnam- Fabulous First Trip to Asia (October 21-November 5, 2017)
Huge thanks to AJ for making it all so easy. We emailed Golfasian asking for options on Tuesday morning MST, spoke to AJ Tuesday night and were on our way to Vietnam from Calgary, Alberta Canada on Saturday. We were met by a GolfAsian Representative at the Airport and our driver Jason (who took great care of us). **Remember to get your Visa and photos, it must be ordered online and confirmation received back before arriving in Vietnam** The golf courses were beautiful (BRG Da Nang , Montgomerie Links, Ba'Na' Hills and Laguna Golf Lang Co) and the staff were excellent, professional, super fun Caddies. We stayed at Naman Retreat in Da Nang, 5 STAR perfection. We highly recommend using Golfasian for your Asia Golf Holiday.

    • Just back from great 3 week trip with Golfasian, visiting Hua Hin, Bangkok and Pattaya. Golf Asian arranged everything from arrival at Bangkok airport to departure. All we had to do was turn up, play golf and have fun. Every transfer, hotel and golf course went smoothly. Every golfer should experience golf in Thailand. Golfasian highly recommended.

    • Just back from a 4 night trip to Phuket for 54 holes of golf, at Blue Canyon (Lakes Course), Laguna and Loch Palm. All fantastically organised (flights excluded) by Win. We started with 7 people went down to 5 and then back up to six, and then 1 departing a day early. All the changes were handled smoothly and with out complaint by the Golfasian team. From arrival to departure everything was smooth and on time. I've already recommended their services to another group looking for a trip later in the year. This group will be back again. Thank you to all involved.
