Spanning 7,012 yards, the course is thoughtfully crafted on former paddy fields at the confluence of three rivers: the Hlaing, Pun Hlaing, and Yangon. This unique setting provides not only a challenging round of golf but also stunning views of the iconic Shwedagon Pagoda and the Yangon skyline. While many fairways are framed by water hazards, the generous width of the fairways allows players of all skill levels to navigate the course with confidence.
Players can expect well-maintained greens and fairways that ensure excellent playing conditions year-round. The clubhouse features top-tier amenities, including a restaurant and bar that overlook the 18th green, offering a relaxed atmosphere to enjoy a varied menu of Asian and Western cuisine. Dagon Golf City & Luxury Golf Estates is a contemporary golfing oasis, conveniently situated just 15 minutes from the Yangon International Airport. This impressive project, meticulously designed by Phil Ryan of Pacific Coast Design, transforms a former fish farm into a captivating landscape. The course masterfully utilizes the existing small lakes to frame many of its holes, complemented by significant earthmoving that has created inviting mounding along fairways and around challenging green complexes. The introduction of Paspalum grass throughout the course promises excellent year-round playing conditions, a welcome feature for enjoying golf in Myanmar's tropical climate. We invite you to experience a truly modern golf adventure.
Prepare yourself for a unique golfing challenge at Dagon Golf City, where precision is key to a rewarding round. The greens, notably petite on most holes, demand pinpoint accuracy on approach shots, while expansive fairway and greenside bunkers present a strategic test of your game. Many holes are thoughtfully designed to create a sense of strategic squeeze, requiring careful consideration of your tee shots. Whether you choose to unleash a powerful drive to carry fairway hazards or opt for a more judicious lay-up with a fairway wood, strategic thinking will be your best companion. The course's design philosophy ensures an engaging experience for golfers of all skill levels.
Beyond the strategic demands, Dagon Golf City offers delightful and memorable holes that are sure to become favorites. Our signature short par-3, the 12th hole, is instantly recognizable thanks to the whimsical giant red monkey situated in the greenside bunker, a playful nod to the 'Year of the Monkey' when construction began. The picturesque 2nd hole, a par-3 adjacent to the housing estate, features intricate rock work and landscaping, offering a generous bail-out area for an almost certain par. Furthermore, the 7th hole, a short dogleg left par-4, presents an opportunity for big hitters to reach the green in one or a more measured approach to a well-guarded green. We believe Dagon Golf City offers a truly special golfing escape.
