Golfasian - Asian Golf Holiday Experts in Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Laos & Myanmar
Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, 24 August 2015 — Whatever Thuy Trang, Vietnam’s golf tourism dynamo, lacks in stature she makes up in business skills and success. For the past five years, since establishing Golfasian Vietnam, Trang, 35, has been the driving force behind Vietnam’s rise as a major golf tourism destination in Asia. She and her 11 other staff – seven in Ho Chi Minh City and two each in Danang and Hanoi – built the business to exceed $US1 million turnover in 2014, a mark they surpassed in the first quarter alone in 2015. The company booked 1500 golfers to Vietnam last year and is expecting to triple or quadruple this number in 2015. Australia, the United Kingdom, Germany, Malaysia, Singapore and Hong Kong are the main source markets. Trang, the mother of two young daughters and holding degrees in computer science and maths, originally intended becoming a maths teacher like her father and sister, but made her mark in the travel industry instead. “I studied English at night and soon realised I wanted to work with people, not computers,” she explains. Trang has now spent the past 12 years in the travel industry. She saw the opportunity to establish a golf tourism business when she began receiving inquiries at Aurora Travel, the company where she previously worked and which is now associated with Golfasian Vietnam. “At first, I didn’t know much about golf, but when I went on some golf familiarisation trips, I realised there was an excellent business opportunity, so I teamed up with Golfasian and launched Golfasian Vietnam.” She has since travelled widely throughout Asia and to Europe to attend golf tourism events and conventions and has become the foremost authority on golf tourism to Vietnam. Trang says Vietnam’s stature as a golf tourism destination has been enhanced by the number and quality of new courses, hotels and resorts built in the past five years, especially in and near Danang, which has become the country’s most popular city to stay and play golf. “We have found that golfers who come to Vietnam want to experience the culture, food, history and many hidden charms,” she explains. “They also love Vietnam’s pristine, undiscovered qualities and infrastructure that makes a visit easy and enjoyable.” Trang believes the tropical island Phu Quoc, off Vietnam’s southern coast near the Cambodia border, will become the country’s new golf tourism hotspot. The island already has one 27-hole course and several more are to be built in the next one to two years. Vietnam currently has 36 courses, with at least 20 others in various stages of planning or construction. To book a golf holiday to Vietnam, visit www.golfasian.com.

    • This is the 2nd time i engaged GolfAsia for the HCM package. What impressed me much was they archived my last record and was able to recommend me 'new' courses to play this time. As was the last trip, they were organised and reliable. The arrangements (including a golf game that required speedboat transfer) were seamless and hassle-free.
Well done, GolfAsia. Looking forward to another trip by you.

The golf Asian staff was better than they enen probably had to be from start to finish. I will be recommending this trip to everyone I know and plan on using golf Asian every year for as long as I am physically able. Thanks again can't wait to see next year's tounament line up.

    • Golfasian organised a trip for 8 golfers to the Pattaya area of Thailand in November. The planning and organisation prior to he trip was great and we were kept up to date at all times. The staff and drivers during our trip were excellent and I would recommend Golfasian to anyone considering a South East Asian golf trip.

    • Four friends, 6 rounds of golf in Kuala Lumpur and Johor Bahru. Arrangements by GolfAsian were great and all courses were different but good quality. All transfer drivers were helpful and punctual but our favourite was "Johnson" in KL. Minor criticisms - water was not supplied and our first 9 at Kota Permai was marred by major fairway renovation. All in all we had a fun time and we will be back.

    • After numerous tournaments with Golfasian, we are very satisfied with their service, efficiency & wonderful staff..We are still planning more in the future..even now with these unknown health conditions, as we know the company will not put any of their clients/friends in a dangerous situation. See you again soon hopefully...stay safe!
