Tublamu Navy Golf Course is a rural municipal course owned and operated by the Royal Thai Navy. The 18-hole layout plays along the Andaman Sea and is home to many seabirds. It is the closest golf course to Khao Lak. Beautiful views of the Phuket Mountains in the distance remind golfers of proximity to Thailand’s largest island.
The 6825-yard par-72 course was finished in 2002 when it also opened to the public. While the layout is decent and green fees are low, don’t expect PGA conditions. Tublamu is still an okay choice for those staying in Khao Lak or nearby Krabi as there are practically no other golf courses in this part of Thailand. It is best to visit Tublamu together with a tour guide or interpreter as the clubhouse is rustic and caddies and staff speak limited English.
