Garden City Golf Club, located just 15 kilometers northeast of Phnom Penh, offers a meticulously maintained golfing experience on its 240-acre estate. Opened in 2013, this par-72 course utilizes Seashore Paspalum turf, ensuring top-notch conditioning that rivals the best in the region. Managed with expertise from IMG, the course promises a smooth and enjoyable round for all players.
Designed by Major General Weerayudth Phetbuasak, known for his acclaimed work at Suwan and Sea Pines in Thailand, the course presents a strategic challenge for seasoned players while remaining accessible to those with varying skill levels. The layout features large greens and numerous water hazards, all set within a landscape transformed from flat rice paddies into a dynamic golfing arena. Stretching 7,361 yards from the championship tees, the course is a true test of skill.
Notable holes include the signature 6th, a demanding 439-yard par-4 with water hazards that challenge even the most experienced golfers. The 15th hole, a par-3, offers a unique double green, allowing for strategic play and decision-making. The 9th hole, a 444-yard par-4, concludes the front nine with its own set of challenges, including a tricky green and a hidden lake.
The modern clubhouse at Garden City provides excellent amenities, including spacious changing rooms, a well-regarded restaurant, and a fully stocked pro shop. Future expansions will include a hotel, spa, gym, and swimming pool, enhancing the overall experience. With optional golf carts and attentive caddies, players can expect a seamless blend of golf and Khmer hospitality.
