We're thrilled to announce we're ramping up for the upcoming 10th anniversary of the Centara World Masters Golf Championship! Organized jointly by Golfasian and GoGolfing, this prestigious event has grown into Asia's most prominent and richest amateur golf tournament, attracting over 400 club golfers from 25 countries. Be sure to visit our event calendar for more exciting tournaments throughout the region.

Our team has just returned from an extensive inspection trip to Yunnan, China, and we're delighted to announce that Golfasian is now offering Kunming, Dali, and Lijiang as new golf destinations. The region boasts world-class courses, including the Spring City Robert Trent Jones Jr.-designed course and Jack Nicklaus signature layouts. Stay tuned for our June newsletter, where we'll provide more details on this up-and-coming golf region.

DESTINATION OF THE MONTH:  Phuket

Just a short 80-minute flight from Bangkok, Phuket offers a stunning tropical paradise with championship golf courses nestled among lush landscapes and dramatic limestone cliffs. Thailand's largest island combines world-class golf with the breathtaking beauty of the Andaman Sea, creating an unforgettable setting for your next golf holiday.

The island boasts several exceptional courses, including Blue Canyon Country Club with its legendary Canyon Course that once challenged Tiger Woods, and the award-winning Red Mountain Golf Club carved from an abandoned tin mine. Laguna Golf Phuket and Loch Palm Golf Club round out the impressive selection, each offering unique challenges and spectacular views.

Beyond the fairways, Phuket delights with pristine white-sand beaches, luxury beachfront resorts, and vibrant nightlife in Patong. Visitors can explore the charming Old Town with its Sino-Portuguese architecture, indulge in world-famous Thai cuisine, or take boat excursions to nearby islands like Phi Phi. With year-round warm weather, excellent caddies, and that legendary Thai smile, Phuket delivers a perfect blend of championship golf and tropical vacation experiences - an essential destination for golf travelers seeking both challenge and relaxation.

COURSE OF THE MONTH:
Blue Canyon Country Club

Nestled near Phuket International Airport, Blue Canyon Country Club boasts two award-winning courses sculpted from a former tin mine. Development of this remarkable site began in 1988 under the vision of Yoshikazu Kato, one of Japan’s most prolific golf course architects. The Canyon Course, built in 1991 and famously the site of Tiger Woods' 1998 Johnnie Walker Classic triumph, is celebrated for its dramatic back nine. Its signature 13th hole presents a thrilling canyon carry, while the stunning par-3 14th features an island green that demands precision from every golfer.

Notably, the Canyon Course has also proudly hosted prestigious events such as the KLPGA Blue Canyon Ladies Championship and the Annika Invitational Asia, marking the first time this esteemed junior girls' tournament was held in Asia.

Further solidifying its reputation, the Canyon Course was honored with the World Golf Awards for Best Course in Thailand in both 2022 and 2024.

The Lakes Course, built in 1999 and redesigned in 2006, meanders through serene lakes, natural canyons, and lush rubber plantations. Offering five sets of tees, it provides a more accessible yet strategically engaging round. Many visitors now favor this course for its user-friendly design and excellent value, which includes golf cart usage. The challenging par-4 18th, with a jungle-filled canyon protecting the green, is recognized as one of Thailand's finest finishing holes.

MEET OUR TEAM - Arina

Meet Arina, our Operations Executive with a truly international perspective. Born in Thailand but raised in Austria, Arina returned to complete her Business English degree at Assumption University Bangkok before joining Golfasian.

Her entry into golf came through caddying for her boyfriend Newport who is a golf pro in Thailand for 18 months, where she discovered her passion for the sport and travel industry. "I couldn't have found a better fit than Golfasian," she shares.

A dedicated traveler, Arina has been mesmerized by Japan's blend of tradition and modernity, though she dreams of seeing the Northern Lights in Scandinavia and the majestic Himalayan views. What attracts her to golf is its unpredictability and the fact that "it's all up to yourself and your own mindset" - plus the stylish outfits!

When not coordinating golf holidays, you might find her exploring new restaurants, practicing photography, or browsing bookstores. Her perfect day includes a bowl of Vietnamese Pho or Austrian "Schnittlauchbrot mit Butter" and an iced americano.
