Welcome to the January 2023 issue of the Asian Golf Insider, the source for news-breaking information about golf in Asia. Also, unique golf-playing tips for South East Asia's tropical environment, announcements of golf travel promotions, and fantastic upcoming tournament information are all parts of this newsletter.

Time flies; I can't quite believe we're in 2023 already! Let me take this opportunity to wish you, your friends, partners, and colleagues a happy, healthy, and prosperous New Year.

Golf tourism in Asia is hitting the sweet spot (no pun) as golfers rediscover the region's wonders with renewed appreciation. A great deal of Asia's golf appeal this time of the year is due to its geography. Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia are blessed with long coastlines lending to multiple year-round golf destinations across the East Sea, the Gulf of Thailand, and the Indian Ocean. Great weather across pristine green fairways and emerald blue oceans makes for idyllic golf holidays. The peak golf season is the next three months as the weather is dry and cool, perfect conditions for golf in Asia.

On the events calendar is the Hua Hin Skins, which is coming up in March, followed by two majors, Centara World Masters and Pattaya Men's. The three events only have a few slots left, as many players are registered and set to participate. As a result, we will launch new 2023 events to handle the increased demand and popularity and ensure everyone has a chance to compete.

Follow our updates by bookmarking this page for our ongoing Asian golf tournament calendar. Each golf tournament allows amateur golfers to participate in professionally organized golf events that challenge one's golf skills in a fun setting and provide excellent networking and new friendship-building opportunities.

Whether the never-ending smiling Thais, sincere Vietnamese, diverse Malaysians, or the polite Balinese, our staff locals make every golfer on their fairways, feel like their 'Royal Guest.' I will guarantee you, who are the benefits of this Royal Golf Experience, will appreciate your trip with us not only during your travels but also after you return home and start planning your next Asian golf experience.

Complete full-service itineraries created for your specific travel preferences, expectations, group size, and budgetary requirements are our specialty. Please get in touch with us anytime for a competitive quote.

I wish all golfers a happy and healthy Christmas. Until the next month, happy golfing!

Mark Siegel, Managing Director

Phuket is known internationally as one of the most exotic destinations in Southeast Asia. With its endless white beaches, cooling blue lagoons and tropical mountainous interior, it provides a stunning and glorious image of paradise on earth, providing an ideal backdrop for a Phuket golf holiday.

There are various golf courses in Phuket. Most notable are Blue Canyon and Red Mountain. COURSE OF THE MONTH: Blue Canyon Country Club
Blue Canyon Country Club’s Canyon Course was the original 18 hole layout and leaped to fame when selected as the venue for the 1994 Johnnie Walker Classic. Since then the same tournament has returned two times with Tiger Woods winning in 1998. Blue Canyon recognized as a world championship golf course and recently awarded as Thailand's Best Golf Course by 2022 World Golf Awards.

The course is set in an abandoned tin mine displays old strip mine characteristics throughout the property. Streams filled with rust-colored water, canyons with sheer cliffs exposing red and white tin ore-laden rock, and tailings from former mining operations are a few of the many throwbacks to days of time gone.
